The Silent Hero Project

Silent Hero is a multidisciplinary visual research initiative by Alexey Yurenev that investigates the gaps within family history resulting from the silence of his grandfather, a World War II veteran who endured the loss of his brother during the war. Employing photography, generative AI, archival materials, and narrative methodologies, the project critically examines the potential of technological interventions to address historical absences. It examines the interplay between synthetic memory, the visualization of conflict, and collective remembrance.
